I attended a very productive site
meeting today with representatives of the environment department and local residents
to look at, among other things, the provision and location of litter bins in
part of Panmurefield Village.
There is concern about the litter that is dropped by some pupils making their way back
to school after visiting the shops in Panmurefield during their lunch break. In
recent months the residents themselves have carried out their own litter pick
and filled a number of rubbish bags.
It was agreed that larger bins will
be supplied and repositioned to take better account of the route used by the
pupils. Hopefully the new school session will see an improvement.
