I was pleased to see that the
work to upgrade the unadopted pavements in Stewart Street is progressing well.
Stewart Street has featured in a provisional programme of works several times
over the years, only to be overtaken on the council’s unadopted footways scheme
priority list as other pavements received higher ranking points following the
annual assessment.
Stewart Street is well used by
pedestrians as a link road between Cedar Road and Forthill Road and they will
benefit from the new pavement and kerb. In recent years a number of pavements in the immediate area have been
brought up to standard including Traill Street, Cedar Road, Davidson Street and
Fintry Place, so it’s good to see the unadopted pavements in this local
cluster of streets nearly completed, although
there are plenty of other locations in Broughty Ferry still to do!
