One of the issues raised with me fairly
regularly is the need for more on street parking in central Broughty Ferry, particularly
in the core shopping area. The outcome of recent contact I have had with officers in the council's City Development Department is that its Network Management team
will be carrying out a review of parking provision and arrangements in Broughty
Ferry during the summer. There are a lot of issues to take into account such as
loading, disabled parking, bus stops, junction protection, etc, but it is hoped
that some additional spaces will be created as a result of additions or
alterations to existing waiting restrictions. Any proposals will require a
traffic regulation variation order to be made.
The area for the review will
include Queen Street to the north, Dundee Road to the west and Panmure Street
to the east.
