The
members of the new Conservative Group took their places in the City Chambers on
Monday for the statutory meeting of Dundee City Council. The meeting dealt with
the appointment of various office bearers and conveners.
Ian
Borthwick, who has served Dundee as a councillor for more than 50 years, was
appointed Lord Provost. Ian will be a great ambassador for the city and I am
pleased that his life of public service has been recognised in this way. For my
own part, I was honoured to be reappointed as a bailie.
Going forward the
Conservative Group will scrutinise council
business, challenging issues constructively when required and supporting issues
when it’s in the best interests of Dundee to do so.
