I am often contacted by residents
about the condition of the carriageway at the junction of Montague Street/Navarre
Street/Guthrie Terrace. It is in a very poor state and has been deteriorating
for some time. My requests to fill potholes at this location are always
actioned timeously but a more permanent repair is really required. There is
also concern about the disintegration of the white lines at the junction.
The Roads Maintenance Partnership
has advised me that the structural inlay programme is due to commence in the
new year and this junction has been included
for resurfacing in mid January. The road markings will be renewed as part of
these works.
The junction is to be inspected
by the roads maintenance partnership and if a stop line is required to be
refreshed in the interim this will be done and actionable potholes will
continue to be filled as required.
